What is Supervised Visitation?

Supervised visitation allows a parent or other family member to spend time with a child in the presence of a trained, neutral third party. It is commonly used when a court has determined that unsupervised contact may not be in a child's best interest — or when families voluntarily seek a safe, structured setting for reunification.

At Evolution Family Counseling, our supervised visitation monitors are professionally trained to create a calm, welcoming atmosphere. We document all sessions thoroughly and provide reports to attorneys, guardians ad litem, or the court as required.

Our dedicated visitation facility is purpose-built for this service — featuring a child-centered visitation room with books, toys, and an art station to help children feel at ease.

We believe children should feel safe and comfortable during visits. Our dedicated visitation room includes age-appropriate books, toys, art supplies, and a comfortable seating area — so families can focus on connection.

Supporting every party
in the process.

Families & Parents

We provide a neutral, non-judgmental space for parents to maintain or rebuild a relationship with their children under professional oversight — whether court-ordered or sought voluntarily.

Attorneys & Courts

We work directly with family law attorneys, GALs, and the court system to provide timely, objective written reports following each session. Referrals are accepted via our online referral form.

Children & Guardians

The safety and well-being of children is our top priority. Our trained monitors ensure children feel protected and comfortable, and we are mindful of their emotional needs throughout every visit.

Getting started
is simple.

1

Submit a Referral

Complete our online referral form or contact our office directly. We accept court-ordered and voluntary referrals from attorneys, social workers, and families directly.

2

Intake & Orientation

Each party participates in a brief orientation to review expectations, rules of conduct, scheduling, and documentation policies before visits begin.

3

Scheduled Visits

Visits take place in our private, child-friendly visitation room. A trained monitor is present throughout and maintains a detailed written log of each session.

4

Documentation & Reports

Following each visit, a written report is prepared and provided to the referring party — attorney, court, or guardian — in a timely manner.

Frequently asked
questions.

Where is the visitation program located?
Our supervised visitation services are provided at our dedicated in-person facility, which is reserved exclusively for court-ordered and specialized services.
Does this need to be court-ordered?
No. While we do accept and fulfill court-ordered visitation requirements, families may also seek our services voluntarily when a neutral, supervised environment would benefit the children involved.
What does a monitor do during a visit?
Unlike many supervised visitation programs where a monitor sits in the room, our monitor observes from a separate room via audio and video. We believe this creates a more natural, relaxed environment for both the child and the visiting parent. Our monitor remains attentive throughout the entire visit and will intervene whenever necessary — whether for safety reasons or to enforce expectations and rules.
How are visits documented?
After each session, our monitors complete a written report covering the date, duration, parties present, general conduct, and any notable observations. Reports are provided to attorneys, guardians ad litem, or the court as directed.
How do I make a referral?
You can submit a referral using our online Referral Form. Attorneys, social workers, case managers, and families are all welcome to make referrals. You may also contact our office directly with questions.
What is the cost?
Pricing varies depending on session length and service needs. Please contact our office or submit a referral form and a team member will follow up with specific fee information for your situation.
